Common callouts around Bassendean
Bassendean is one of Perth’s older riverside towns, and its streets carry plenty of cars that have seen a few decades. A lot of our work here is plain breakdown towing: a car that won’t turn over in the driveway, a timing belt that lets go on the way to work, or a fuel pump that dies outside the shops.
The other big one is Guildford Road. It runs the length of the suburb alongside the Midland line, with commuters heading for Bassendean and Success Hill stations. Nose-to-tail traffic and right turns across the road lead to minor crashes, and people who park and ride sometimes come back to a car that won’t start.
Bassendean’s main roads and the suburbs around it
Guildford Road is the spine, with Lord Street crossing it and heading north past Eden Hill towards the Swan Valley. West Road and Old Perth Road frame the Bassendean Village shopping area, while Collier Road links back west to Bayswater and the Tonkin Highway. Keep going east on Guildford Road and you reach Guildford. Across the river sit Ascot and South Guildford.
Down towards the water, the streets near Success Hill Reserve are narrow and leafy. We take care with low branches and parked cars when backing a tilt tray in.
If your car won’t go in Bassendean
- Give us the cross street, not just the road name. Guildford Road is long.
- In the station car park, mention which entrance you used.
- If you’re near the river reserves, tell us if the car is on gravel or grass.
- Let us know if the car is lowered or has a body kit so we bring the right gear.
