Yanchep callouts, from estates to bushland
Yanchep is one of the fastest-growing parts of Perth, with new estates going up around Marmion Avenue and Yanchep Beach Road. Many of our jobs here involve long-distance runs, either moving a car to a workshop down south or delivering a vehicle to a new home through our vehicle transport service. Flat batteries from short trips, overheating on the long drive up and tyres punctured by building site debris are common.
The rural side of Yanchep brings different work. Wanneroo Road runs north through the eastern part of the suburb past Yanchep National Park, with bushland on both sides and higher speeds. Crashes with kangaroos, breakdowns far from houses and cars stuck on sandy verges are all regular jobs. Further up the coast, where 4WDs are allowed on the sand, we also recover vehicles that have got bogged.
How we get around Yanchep
Marmion Avenue comes up through Alkimos and Eglinton and ends at the roundabout with Yanchep Beach Road. From there, Yanchep Beach Road runs inland to Wanneroo Road and the national park, and Two Rocks Road leads north to Two Rocks. Wanneroo Road ends at Yanchep Beach Road, where Indian Ocean Drive continues north towards Guilderton and Lancelin.
Yanchep station, at the northern end of the railway line, gives commuters a direct link to Joondalup and the city, and its car park is a likely place to find a flat battery after a long day at work.
Car trouble in Yanchep? What to do
- In a new estate, share your exact location from your phone and tell us the estate name.
- On Wanneroo Road or Indian Ocean Drive, pull well off onto firm ground and watch for wildlife at dawn and dusk.
- If you’re bogged on the sand, stop driving, lower your tyre pressure if safe, and call early if the tide is rising.
- Let us know if the car needs to go a long way, so we can plan the trip.
