Common callouts in Alkimos
Alkimos has grown from bushland into a string of housing estates in only a few years, and our jobs here reflect that. New residents often still have the car they drove up from an older suburb, and the longer runs to work down the freeway find out weak cooling systems and tired batteries. We also move plenty of cars for people relocating into the area, which falls under our vehicle transport work.
Since the freeway was extended to Romeo Road, the northern tip of it ends right in the suburb. Traffic coming off the freeway at speed meets roundabouts and traffic lights, and that’s where we see rear-end crashes. Construction traffic on the estate roads adds to the mix, along with the odd flat tyre from building debris.
Alkimos roads and nearby suburbs
Marmion Avenue is the main north to south spine, with Shorehaven Boulevard and Romeo Road feeding the estates on either side. Head north on Marmion and you’re quickly in Eglinton and then Yanchep. South of the suburb, Butler and Jindalee share the border, and the Mitchell Freeway takes you back towards Joondalup and the city.
Alkimos station sits just east of Marmion Avenue, and its car parks are a regular pickup spot for cars that won’t start after a day at work.
If your car has stopped in Alkimos
- If you’re at the freeway’s end near Romeo Road, pull well clear of the ramp so merging traffic can see you.
- On an unfinished estate road, watch for trucks and earthmoving gear, and keep children away from the kerb.
- Share a location pin or the estate and stage name, since some streets may not show up on every map.
- For a beach or track bog, let us know how far from the car park you are and what the sand is like.
