Road safety
Perth's Most Dangerous Roads
We tow from these roads more than almost anywhere else. Here's why they're risky, how to stay safe, and what to do if you crash.
RAC WA's Risky Roads survey asks West Australians to nominate the roads and intersections where they feel least safe, and many of the same names come up again and again. Most are busy arterial roads and highways that mix fast traffic, heavy freight, frequent intersections and driveways. Some are single intersections with poor sight lines. Others, like the area around Garden City, are simply so busy that minor crashes happen every day.
If you're involved in a crash on any of them, put safety first: hazard lights on, get out of the traffic if you can, and call 000 if anyone is hurt or the road is blocked. When everyone is safe, we can tow your car and bill your insurer directly.
- Road
Mitchell Freeway
The Mitchell Freeway carries Perth's northern suburbs into the city, and RAC WA's 2025 Risky Roads survey named its West Perth stretch the riskiest metro road in Perth. If you've crashed or broken down anywhere between the Narrows Bridge and Alkimos, we tow 24/7.
- Road
Great Eastern Highway
Great Eastern Highway runs from the Causeway past the airport to Midland and up Greenmount Hill, carrying commuters, airport traffic and road trains heading for the Goldfields. We tow cars, utes and larger vehicles off every metro stretch of it, 24/7.
- Road
Albany Highway
Albany Highway is the busy shopping and commuter spine of Perth's south-east, running from Victoria Park through Cannington and Gosnells to Armadale. If you've had a bump at the lights or a breakdown in the traffic, we tow 24/7 along its whole metro length.
- Road
Wanneroo Road
Wanneroo Road is the long northern alternative to the freeway, running from the inner suburbs through Balcatta, Wangara and the Wanneroo town centre towards Yanchep. We tow crashed and broken-down vehicles anywhere along it, day or night.
- Road
Canning Highway
Canning Highway links Victoria Park with Fremantle along the south side of the Swan River, and its Melville dog-leg junction with Rome and Hislop roads was ranked Perth's second riskiest intersection by RAC WA in 2025. We tow 24/7 along its full length.
- Road
Baldivis Road
Baldivis Road is the north-south spine of Baldivis, and its intersection with Kulija Road was voted Perth's riskiest intersection in RAC WA's 2025 Risky Roads survey. If you've crashed or broken down on it, we tow 24/7.

- Road
Hislop Road
Hislop Road is a quiet residential street in Attadale and Alfred Cove, but where it meets Canning Highway opposite Rome Road it forms the dog-leg junction RAC WA's 2025 survey ranked Perth's second riskiest. We tow 24/7 if you're caught up in a crash there.
- Road
Rome Road
Rome Road runs south from Canning Highway through Alfred Cove and Melville, and its offset junction with the highway and Hislop Road was ranked Perth's second riskiest intersection in RAC WA's 2025 survey. We tow 24/7 if you've crashed there.

Ranford Road carries traffic from South Street across Canning Vale and Southern River to Armadale Road, part of a main route between Fremantle and Armadale. We tow 24/7 if you've crashed or broken down anywhere along it.
