What gets us called to Two Rocks
Two Rocks sits about 60 kilometres north of the city, so a breakdown here is rarely a quick fix with a mate’s jumper leads. Many of our jobs are long tows back down to a mechanic in Joondalup, Wangara or closer to home. Cars that have overheated on the long drive up, flat tyres from the rough edges of the outer roads and batteries that die after a weekend away are typical.
The marina brings in boat-towing problems, from failed clutches on the ramp to snapped trailer couplings. Then there are the sand jobs. Beach access from the town itself is closed to vehicles, but the coastal tracks further north towards Wilbinga, entered from Indian Ocean Drive, are open to 4WDs, and getting bogged there is easy when tyre pressures aren’t dropped.
Getting to and around Two Rocks
Two Rocks Road is the main way in, running north from the end of Yanchep Beach Road in Yanchep. In the original town, Lisford Avenue, Enterprise Avenue and Sovereign Drive lead to the marina, the shopping centre and the King Neptune sculpture. Newer estates are spreading east and south-east of the old town, so some streets are very new. Indian Ocean Drive, the route north to the 4WD tracks, starts where Wanneroo Road ends in Yanchep.
For longer trips south, the route runs through Eglinton and Alkimos to the end of the Mitchell Freeway.
Help if you’re stuck in Two Rocks
- Share your exact location from your phone’s map, especially if you’re on a track or a new street.
- On the sand, stop spinning the wheels as soon as you’re stuck, and let your tyres down if it’s safe to do so.
- If the tide is coming in, call early and tell us how close the water is.
- Let us know where the car needs to end up, since many Two Rocks tows finish well down the coast.
