Common callouts in High Wycombe
A lot of what we do here is shaped by the roads on the edges of the suburb. Roe Highway runs down the eastern side carrying trucks between the Kewdale freight area and Midland, and Kalamunda Road along the north is the main route between the hills and the airport. Breakdowns on these roads are risky because of the speed and the size of the traffic, and crashes at the busier intersections turn into accident towing jobs that we bill straight to your insurer where possible.
Since the Airport line opened, High Wycombe railway station has become a busy park-and-ride. Big car parks mean flat batteries, cars that won’t start after a long day, and the odd dead vehicle left behind when someone catches the train anyway. Inside the suburb, the established streets around Newburn Road and the newer estates bring the usual home breakdowns and cars that need transport to a mechanic.
Roads and places we cover around High Wycombe
The suburb is roughly framed by Kalamunda Road to the north, Dundas Road to the west, Maida Vale Road to the south and Roe Highway to the east, with Newburn Road running through the middle of the residential area. Abernethy Road heads west past the airport towards Belmont and Kewdale.
Perth Airport takes up the land to the west, and the Hazelmere industrial area sits to the north. Maida Vale lies to the east, at the foot of the climb to Gooseberry Hill. To the south is Forrestfield, and to the north-west is South Guildford.
Stuck in High Wycombe? Here’s what to do
- On Roe Highway, get off the traffic lane fully and stand behind the barrier if there is one.
- In the station car park, note the nearest light pole number or bay row if you can see one.
- Near the airport boundary, name the road you’re on and the last street you passed, because several roads here look alike at night.
- If the car is blocking someone’s driveway or a bus stop, mention it when you call.
