Common Hilton callouts
The suburb was laid out as a post-war garden suburb, with wide verges, big blocks and a lot of original weatherboard and fibro homes. Many of those blocks are now being redeveloped, and that brings older cars, project vehicles and trailers that need moving out before the builders move in. These are calm, planned vehicle transport jobs rather than emergencies.
South Street is where most of the urgent calls come from. It’s a busy east to west arterial linking Fremantle with Murdoch and the freeway, and the stretch through Hilton has shops, bus stops and side streets feeding in. Rear-end crashes and cars that stall at the lights are the common ones. We tow them off the road and, if your insurer is involved, deal with them directly.
Where Hilton sits
South Street runs past the village centre and the main strip of shops. Carrington Street forms the western edge, separating Hilton from Beaconsfield, and Paget Street holds a few more local businesses. On the southern side, Winterfold Road marks the boundary with Hamilton Hill, and the industrial streets of O’Connor are just to the north. Stock Road is a short drive east if you’re heading south towards Cockburn.
If you’re stuck in Hilton right now
- On South Street, pull into a side street or the nearest car park if the car will move. Don’t block a bus stop.
- At home, check that the driveway or verge is clear so the truck can get close.
- For a car that’s been sitting a long time, tell us if it rolls, steers and has a key.
- If you’ve had a bump, photograph both cars and swap details before we load anything.
