What we’re called out for in South Lake
South Lake was developed in the early 1980s, and today it’s an established residential suburb sitting right beside the Kwinana Freeway. Household breakdowns make up much of our work here: cars that won’t start, failed fuel pumps and vehicles that need breakdown towing to a mechanic.
The freeway is the main source of urgent jobs. The section past Berrigan Drive and down towards Armadale Road and Beeliar Drive is heavily used at peak times, and breakdowns or rear-end crashes on that stretch need a careful pickup.
Lakeland Senior High School and the hockey fields beside it also bring in plenty of young drivers, along with weekend crowds for matches.
Roads and places we cover around South Lake
The Kwinana Freeway forms the eastern boundary, with Jandakot across the other side. Berrigan Drive connects the freeway to the south of the suburb, and North Lake Road wraps around the western and southern edges, linking north to Bibra Lake and down to Cockburn Central. The freight rail line forms the northern boundary.
Elderberry Drive and the surrounding local streets carry most of the traffic within the suburb, with Yangebup to the west and the Cockburn ARC a short drive south.
