What we’re called out for in Thornlie
Thornlie is a large commuter suburb, and the busiest part of our work here is around its two main shopping centres. Thornlie Square and Forest Lakes Forum see a steady run of cars with flat batteries, flat tyres and starter faults. Those jobs usually end with a breakdown tow to the owner’s mechanic or home.
The main roads produce the other calls. Spencer Road carries traffic through the suburb towards Gosnells and Langford, and its busier intersections see frequent crashes. Roe Highway along the north is fast and heavily used by trucks, so a breakdown there needs a careful pickup. The Thornlie station car parks add another regular pickup point, often for cars that wouldn’t start at the end of a working day.
Roads and places around Thornlie
Roe Highway runs along the northern side of Thornlie, separating it from Langford and Kenwick. Nicholson Road forms the western boundary with Canning Vale, and meets Roe Highway at a busy interchange. Spencer Road, Thornlie Avenue and Warton Road carry most of the local traffic, and Yale Road runs through the southern streets. To the east lies Maddington, with Gosnells to the south-east and Huntingdale to the south.
Many Thornlie homes sit on generous blocks with room off the street, so we can usually get a tilt tray right up to the car.
