The kind of jobs we get in Wembley Downs
Wembley Downs is almost entirely residential, so most calls are for cars that won’t start at home or on a quiet street. Flat batteries, fuel pumps and failed starter motors are typical, and the sloping blocks mean some of those cars are stuck at the top or bottom of a steep driveway. We bring the right gear to winch them up safely.
School runs make up another part of our work. Hale School and the local primary school bring heavy traffic morning and afternoon, and a breakdown in a drop-off zone needs moving fast. We also handle the odd prang at the intersections along Weaponess Road and Hale Road, which we look after as accident towing.
Main streets around Wembley Downs
The suburb’s streets loop around the central intersection of Hale Road and Weaponess Road, where The Downs shopping centre sits. Weaponess Road runs north towards Scarborough, and Empire Avenue and Durston Road link down to The Boulevard on the southern side, which runs on towards City Beach and Floreat. To the east, local streets lead into Woodlands and Churchlands.
Beach traffic passes close by in summer, so if you’ve broken down after a day at City Beach or Scarborough, we can tow you home from either side.
If you’re stuck in Wembley Downs
- In the curving streets, give us the house number and a nearby cross street, since the loops can be confusing.
- On a steep driveway, chock the wheels and leave the car in gear or park.
- At The Downs, tell us which part of the car park you’re in.
- If it’s school time, mention it, so we can plan around the traffic.
