Why we get called to Carine
Most of Carine is quiet housing, so the everyday jobs are driveway breakdowns, cars that need a lift to the mechanic and the odd vehicle being moved after a sale. The sports grounds at the northern end of the open space bring weekend callouts too, usually flat batteries after a long game or training session.
The bigger jobs come from the roads. The Mitchell Freeway runs along Carine’s eastern edge, and Reid Highway cuts through the southern part of the suburb and crosses it at an interchange. Merging traffic at that junction, plus the steady flow along Beach Road and Marmion Avenue, means we’re regularly called for accident towing on Carine’s boundaries. In most cases we can bill your insurer and take the car straight to a repairer.
Getting around Carine
Beach Road forms the northern boundary, with Duncraig on the other side and Warwick station near the north-east corner. Marmion Avenue runs down the west, North Beach Road along the south towards Karrinyup, and the Mitchell Freeway on the east. Okely Road runs through the middle beside Carine Regional Open Space, the wetland reserve that takes up about a third of the suburb. Across the freeway to the south-east lies Balcatta.
If your car has stopped in Carine
- On Reid Highway or the freeway ramps, stay in the car with your belt on if there’s no safe place to stand.
- Near the wetlands, give us the nearest road and car park rather than a walking track name.
- On Beach Road, try to pull into a side street or the shops so you’re out of traffic.
- Tell us where you’d like the car taken, whether that’s home, a workshop or an insurer’s repairer.
