Common Maylands callouts
Maylands packs a lot into a small area: a busy rail corridor, a strip of shops and bars, older homes on narrow lots and a river peninsula with a golf course and boat ramp. Most of our work falls into three groups.
Guildford Road is the big one. It carries traffic between the city and the eastern suburbs, and stop-start peak hour leads to rear-enders and overheating. We handle those as accident towing or breakdown towing, depending on what’s happened. Then there are the residential streets near the station and the town centre, where cars sit for days and refuse to start. Finally, the peninsula brings boaties and golfers, and the odd car that slips on a wet ramp.
Streets and spots we know in Maylands
Railway Parade and Whatley Crescent run either side of the train line, and the Eighth Avenue shops sit close to the station. To the west, the street grid meets Mount Lawley, and Central Avenue connects through to Inglewood. Heading east, Guildford Road carries on towards Bayswater.
Peninsula Road takes you south to the river side of the suburb, past the golf course to the boat ramp. Rivervale is just across the water, though there’s no bridge straight over from the peninsula.
Help for drivers stuck in Maylands
- Near the station, mention which side of the line you’re on. Railway Parade and Whatley Crescent are easy to mix up.
- At the boat ramp, keep the handbrake on, chock a wheel if you can and stay out of the water.
- In a laneway, tell us whether we can get in from both ends.
- If you’ve had a bump on Guildford Road, take photos before anything is moved.
Call 0419 857 070 when you’re ready and we’ll take it from there.
