Common jobs in Salter Point
Salter Point is almost entirely residential, with large homes on curving streets that follow the river. Many households have more than one car, plus a boat or a classic car in the garage that doesn’t come out often. Flat batteries, failed fuel pumps and cars that need a tilt tray to a specialist are typical vehicle transport and breakdown jobs.
The river is the other draw. People launch boats and kayaks along the Salter Point foreshore, and a car that won’t start with a trailer attached, or one that’s slipped on a wet ramp, needs careful handling. Aquinas College also generates school-run traffic, and student cars from nearby Curtin University are often parked in the area.
Roads and places we cover around Salter Point
Mount Henry Road and Hope Avenue carry most of the traffic in and out from the Manning and Como side. Salter Point Parade heads out towards the point itself, and Gentilli Way leads down to the river and its boat ramp. The Mount Henry Peninsula reserve sits on the western side, near the Kwinana Freeway’s Mount Henry Bridge. To the north-east lie Waterford and Karawara, with Curtin University just beyond. Across the water are Rossmoyne and Shelley.
Because there’s only a handful of roads in and out, we plan the route before the truck arrives, so you’re not waiting while it turns around.
