The Bentley jobs we see most
Bentley has a big student population, and students tend to drive older, cheaper cars. That means a steady run of flat batteries, cooked radiators and clutches that give out mid-semester, often in the Curtin car parks off Kent Street and Manning Road. Many international students don’t know who to call, so we keep it simple: tell us where the car is and where it needs to go.
The hospital and the retirement villages bring their own calls. A car that won’t start after a long visit, or one that needs moving after its owner can no longer drive, is a common vehicle transport job here.
East of Albany Highway, Bentley turns light-industrial, and work vans and utes break down there during business hours. The highway itself sees regular crashes, especially near the Leach Highway junction.
Bentley’s main roads and neighbours
Albany Highway runs north-west to south-east through the suburb, connecting St James and Victoria Park with Cannington. Leach Highway meets it near the Welshpool side, carrying freight from the industrial area. Manning Road and Kent Street wrap around the university, with Karawara just over Kent Street to the west. Jarrah Road runs along the north, through the quieter streets near Technology Park.
Broken down in Bentley? Do this
- In a campus car park, find the car park number on the nearest sign.
- At the hospital, stay clear of ambulance access and wait near the main entry.
- If you’re at a highway intersection, keep your hazard lights on and stay buckled in until it’s safe to get out.
- Let us know if the car needs to go to a specific mechanic or back to a share house.
