What we tow in St James
St James is mostly homes, with a small commercial strip along Albany Highway and a few scattered businesses. Plenty of residents rent, including students from nearby Curtin University, and a lot of the cars on these streets have plenty of kilometres on them. That means breakdown towing for failed alternators, overheating engines and cars that simply won’t turn over is our most common job here.
Albany Highway brings the crashes. Traffic heading between Victoria Park and Cannington is heavy all day, and the corner where Welshpool Road and Shepperton Road meet Albany Highway is particularly busy. Rear-end collisions and side-swipes here are regular accident towing calls.
Roads and streets around St James
Albany Highway runs along the north-eastern side of St James, with Welshpool Road heading east from the Shepperton Road corner into Welshpool. Boundary Road cuts diagonally through the middle of the suburb, marking the line between the two councils. Berwick Street and Chapman Road carry traffic north-west to south-east, linking towards Victoria Park and Bentley. Hill View Terrace is another local route through the suburb. Curtin University is a short drive south-west.
The streets named after British prime ministers, like Palmerston, Walpole and Pitt, are a handy way to tell us where you are.
