What Shenton Park callouts look like
Most of Shenton Park is older housing on narrow streets, and most of our work here is ordinary breakdown towing. A car that has sat in the driveway too long, a failed fuel pump outside the house, or a battery that gave up on a cold winter morning. Kerbside parking is tight, so we often need to manoeuvre carefully around neighbours’ cars.
The busier jobs come from the roads that frame the suburb. Thomas Street on the eastern side runs alongside Kings Park and carries fast traffic. Aberdare Road along the south serves the QEII Medical Centre, and Underwood Avenue and Selby Street on the north-western edge carry steady through traffic.
Roads and neighbours around Shenton Park
Nicholson Road marks much of the boundary with Subiaco, and Railway Road runs past the Shenton Park railway station. Aberdare Road links east towards Thomas Street and west towards Karrakatta, with Nedlands and the hospital precinct just south. Underwood Avenue continues west towards Mount Claremont, and Selby Street heads north to Floreat.
Lake Jualbup is the green heart of the suburb, surrounded by tight residential streets. We know the area well enough to find a sensible place to stop the truck, even when both sides of the road are full.
If your car has stopped in Shenton Park
- On Thomas Street or Aberdare Road, hazards on and stay clear of the traffic side of the car.
- In a residential street, give us the house number so we’re not hunting for you in the dark.
- Mention any steep driveway or tight carport if the car is still at home.
- Tell us where you’d like the car taken, whether that’s your mechanic or back to your own driveway.
