The jobs that bring us to Crawley
Crawley is dominated by the University of Western Australia, and a lot of our work here involves student cars. Older hatchbacks and sedans that have done years of uni runs tend to fail at the worst time: a dead battery after an exam, a cooked radiator in a February heatwave, or a gearbox that finally quits in a campus car park. We tow them home, to a mechanic, or to a wrecker if the car isn’t worth fixing.
Mounts Bay Road is the main way in from the city, squeezed between the river and Kings Park. It’s busy at peak times and has little room to stop, so breakdowns and nose-to-tail crashes there need clearing quickly. We handle those as accident towing and can bill your insurer.
The river foreshore at Matilda Bay is a popular spot for picnics and sunsets, which brings its own flat batteries and locked-in keys.
Crawley’s main routes
Mounts Bay Road runs from the Perth CBD and ends at the Winthrop Avenue intersection, where Stirling Highway begins and heads west through Nedlands. Winthrop Avenue runs north past the hospital precinct towards Shenton Park and Subiaco. Hackett Drive loops along the Matilda Bay foreshore past the Crawley Edge Boatshed and down to the Royal Perth Yacht Club at Pelican Point.
Residential colleges and student apartments surround the campus, where parking is tight and a broken-down car can’t always stay put for long. We also do vehicle transport for students moving cars between home and campus.
Broken down in Crawley? Here’s what helps
- On campus, look for the car park number on the nearest sign and tell us when you call.
- On Mounts Bay Road, don’t walk along the road edge. Wait on the path behind the kerb.
- At Matilda Bay, name the nearest landmark so we come in from the right end of Hackett Drive.
- If you’re a student without much cash on hand, ask about our transparent pricing before we book the job.
