What usually goes wrong in Alfred Cove
Most of our Alfred Cove jobs start on Canning Highway. It carries a steady stream of traffic between Fremantle and the city, and the stretch past Alfred Cove has plenty of signalised intersections and driveways where people brake suddenly. Rear-end bumps at the lights are a regular accident towing call, and we can deal with your insurer directly.
Away from the highway, the calls are quieter. Older cars on Kitchener Road and the streets around it fail to start on cold mornings, alternators give out on the school run, and sports families at Tompkins Park come back to a flat battery after an afternoon of rugby or soccer. We also move cars that have sat unregistered in a driveway for months and need a tilt tray to a mechanic.
Getting around Alfred Cove
North Lake Road splits the suburb in two, running south from Canning Highway towards Myaree and Leach Highway. The western side sits low near the river, with Burke Drive running along the edge of the Alfred Cove Nature Reserve, while the eastern side climbs towards Applecross and Ardross. Kitchener Road is the main local street through the residential blocks, and Booragoon with its big Westfield centre is a short drive south-east.
Because Canning Highway is the main link, our trucks often come along it from either direction. Our Canning Highway road guide has more on the trouble spots along the route.
Broken down in Alfred Cove? Do this first
- On Canning Highway, pull into the next side street or bus bay rather than stopping in a traffic lane.
- Near the foreshore on Burke Drive, park on firm ground and keep the car off the reserve verges.
- Tell us the nearest cross street, such as North Lake Road or Kitchener Road, and whether you’re north or south of the highway.
- After a collision, photograph both cars and jot down the other driver’s details before anything is moved.
Ring 0419 857 070 and we’ll send the nearest truck.
