Lot access in new estates
New estates have their own access challenges. Streets may be partly built, with kerbs, footpaths and service pits going in. Neighbouring lots may already have slabs, frames or fencing, which narrows the space for the truck to line up.
The truck needs to reverse in straight, tilt the tray and drive forward as the container slides off. Before we book, we check the route into the lot, the width of the access, and whether builders’ gear, skip bins or materials are in the way. If the estate has a site office or access rules, let us know.
Soft verges and sand pads
The ground in Baldivis is mostly sand. Sand pads on new lots and unfinished verges can be soft, especially if they’ve been disturbed by machinery or recently watered by reticulation. A loaded truck can sink if the ground can’t take the weight.
Where possible, we place the container on firmer, compacted ground away from service pits, kerbs and new footpaths. Level pads or sleepers under each corner help keep the container straight and the doors working. If the lot is too soft on the day, we’ll tell you rather than risk bogging the truck or damaging the kerb.
