Typical Boya towing jobs
Boya is mostly homes on large, sloping blocks between Greenmount Hill and the Helena River valley, with no big shopping centre or industrial area. That makes our work here fairly specific. Cars struggle with the steep streets, clutches burn out on hill starts, and older vehicles sometimes overheat on the climb from the flats.
Visitors to Boya Quarry and the heritage trail also call us when a car won’t start after a walk, or when someone has parked on a soft verge and can’t get back out. Up here, it’s often a winch first and then a tow.
When something goes wrong on the stretch of Great Eastern Highway above Boya, we handle it as breakdown towing and get the car off the highway as quickly as possible.
Getting to Boya: roads and neighbours
Scott Street is the main road through the locality, with Hudman Road and Coulston Road leading up towards the old quarries on the southern slope of Greenmount Hill. Great Eastern Highway runs along the top side of the hill. Darlington is just to the east, Greenmount and Koongamia sit over the hill to the north, and Helena Valley lies to the south.
The Railway Reserves Heritage Trail runs through Boya on its way from Bellevue to Darlington, and walkers who leave a car nearby sometimes come back to find it won’t start.
