Breakdowns in Darlington: what we usually see
Darlington is a hills suburb of family homes on large blocks, split by Nyaania Creek and sloping down towards the Helena River. Most of our callouts come from the steep terrain. Clutches and automatic gearboxes struggle on hill starts, brakes overheat on the way down, and two-wheel-drive cars sometimes lose traction on gravel driveways after rain.
Visitors walking or cycling the heritage trail occasionally find a flat battery when they get back to the car. On Great Eastern Highway, which skirts the northern edge of the suburb, we handle breakdown towing and crashes, getting cars clear of the traffic climbing towards Mundaring.
Darlington roads and nearby suburbs
Darlington Road is the main route through the suburb, connecting the village with Great Eastern Highway. Hillsden Road, Glen Road and Owen Road take you into the residential streets around the village. To the west, Darlington runs into Boya and down towards Greenmount, while Glen Forrest lies to the east. Helena Valley is to the south, below the scarp.
John Forrest National Park sits just to the north, and the Railway Reserves Heritage Trail runs through Darlington between Boya and Glen Forrest.
