What gets us called to East Fremantle
Most jobs here start on the two highways that cross in the middle of the suburb. Canning Highway and Stirling Highway carry heavy commuter traffic between Fremantle, the river suburbs and the city, and the lights at their junction see plenty of nose-to-tail bumps. When that happens we handle the accident tow and can bill your insurer directly.
The river side brings a different kind of call. Cars towing boats sometimes lose traction on the wet concrete at the Leeuwin ramp, and the odd clutch gives out while hauling a heavy boat back out of the water. On match days around East Fremantle Oval, cars parked in the side streets come back to flat batteries or a stubborn starter motor.
Then there are the quiet residential jobs: an older car that hasn’t moved in weeks, or a project vehicle that needs transport to a workshop.
Getting around East Fremantle
The suburb is small, bordered by the Swan River on two sides, Marmion Street to the south and Petra Street to the east. Canning Highway runs east through Palmyra and Bicton towards Applecross, while Stirling Highway heads north over Stirling Bridge into North Fremantle. Preston Point Road and Riverside Road follow the river, and to the west the streets run straight into central Fremantle.
Broken down in East Fremantle? Do this
- On Canning or Stirling Highway, pull into a side street if the car will still roll. These roads have little room on the kerb side.
- At the boat ramp, move clear of the launching lanes and tell us if the trailer is still attached.
- In the narrow back streets, give us the house number and which side of the road you’re on.
- If the car has been in a crash, photograph the scene and get the other driver’s details before anything is moved.
