The usual calls in Palmyra
Palmyra is a long-established residential suburb wedged between two major highways, which explains most of what we do here. Canning Highway runs along the north, linking Fremantle with Applecross and the city, and Leach Highway runs past the south-eastern corner, carrying freight to and from the port. Stock Road along the east links them. Breakdowns and crashes on these roads are the most common callouts, and we can bill your insurer directly when an accident is involved.
Inside the suburb, Palmyra’s older homes and quiet streets mean a steady flow of routine jobs. We’re often asked to move cars that haven’t been driven for a while, tow family cars with failed batteries or alternators, and take breakdowns to local mechanics in nearby O’Connor and Myaree. The local shops and churches along Canning Highway and Carrington Street also see the occasional car that won’t restart.
Roads and boundaries around Palmyra
Canning Highway marks the northern edge, with Bicton on the other side. Stock Road forms the eastern boundary, with Melville beyond it. In the south, Sainsbury Road and the Fremantle Cemetery lead down to Leach Highway, and Carrington Street continues south past the cemetery into O’Connor. On the western side, Petra Street forms the boundary with East Fremantle, while Marmion Street heads west towards Fremantle.
If you’re stuck in Palmyra
- On Canning Highway or Stock Road, try to pull into a side street if the car is still moving.
- On Leach Highway, stay well off the road and away from heavy vehicles.
- In a residential street, check the truck has room to pull up, and tell us if the road is narrow.
- Let us know where you’d like the car taken.
