What brings us to North Fremantle
North Fremantle is a narrow peninsula, and a lot of Perth’s freight squeezes through it. Tydeman Road carries trucks between Stirling Highway and the North Quay side of Fremantle Port, and Stirling Highway funnels traffic over Stirling Bridge and onto Queen Victoria Street into Fremantle. Breakdowns on these roads are risky because of the big vehicles around you, and we work to get cars clear quickly. Freight businesses near the port also call on us for container transport.
The ocean side of the suburb is a different scene. Port Beach and Leighton Beach draw swimmers, surfers and kite surfers, especially when the afternoon sea breeze kicks in. Flat batteries in the beach car parks after a long session, and the odd key locked in the car, are typical summer calls.
Roads and bridges in and around North Fremantle
Stirling Highway is the main road, running from Mosman Park down the peninsula. Near the southern end it meets Queen Victoria Street, which crosses the river into Fremantle, while Stirling Bridge carries Stirling Highway over the Swan to East Fremantle. Port Beach Road follows the coast north from Tydeman Road towards Cottesloe. McCabe Street marks the northern boundary with Mosman Park.
Between the highway and the river there’s a pocket of older homes and newer apartments with tight streets, where we take care positioning the truck.

- On a bridge, stay in the car with hazards on. Don’t walk along the narrow edge.
- On Tydeman Road, get as far off the road as you can and keep well away from passing trucks.
- At the beach, tell us whether you’re in the Port Beach or Leighton car park and which end.
- If you’re near the port, let us know the business name and which gate to use.
