Sorrento callouts, from the beach to the boat harbour
The western side of Sorrento is all about the water. West Coast Drive runs beside the beach, the surf club sits on the foreshore and Hillarys Boat Harbour, with the Sorrento Quay shops, is at the north-west corner. Cars left in those car parks for a long day on the sand or a trip to Rottnest often won’t start when their owners get back. Saltwater, sand and sun are hard on batteries, and we also see cars with flat tyres from kerb strikes in the busy harbour car parks.
East of the beach the suburb is quiet and residential, but its boundaries are not. Marmion Avenue along the east and Hepburn Avenue along the north are both busy arterials, and Warwick Road begins at Marmion Avenue on Sorrento’s eastern side. After crashes at those intersections we offer accident towing and can bill your insurer directly.
Roads in and out of Sorrento
Hepburn Avenue forms the northern boundary, with Hillarys beyond it, and runs inland past Padbury to the freeway. Marine Terrace marks the southern edge next to Marmion. Marmion Avenue runs along the eastern side with Duncraig over the road, and West Coast Drive follows the coast south towards Trigg and Scarborough.
Seacrest Park and the local shops sit in the middle of the suburb, and the streets around them are wide enough for a tilt tray to pull up easily.
Your car has stopped in Sorrento. What next?
- On West Coast Drive, pull into a beach car park if you possibly can and keep clear of the bike lane.
- At the boat harbour, note the car park and the nearest shop or jetty.
- If you’re towing a boat, tell us whether the trailer needs moving as well as the car.
- Keep your phone charged and stay near the car so the driver can find you.
From Seacrest to the boat harbour, one call to 0419 857 070 gets a Sorrento tow organised at any hour.
