What gets us called to Coogee
Coogee’s beach is the big draw, and with it come the classic beach-day breakdowns. Flat batteries after a few hours with the music on, keys locked in the car while everyone’s swimming and cars that overheat in summer traffic all keep us busy along the foreshore. Vehicles aren’t allowed on the beach itself, so you won’t find us pulling cars out of the sand here, but we’re often in the car parks behind it.
Cockburn Road is the main route along the coast, carrying traffic between Fremantle, the Henderson industrial area and Rockingham. Trucks share the road with beach traffic and commuters, and rear-end crashes at the intersections are a regular accident towing job, with direct billing to your insurer.
Coogee’s roads and nearby suburbs
Cockburn Road runs along the western side of the suburb, with Coogee Commons, the restored old hotel, on the way through. Ocean Road marks the northern edge towards North Coogee and the Port Coogee marina, while Hamilton Road runs along the eastern edge next to Spearwood. Beeliar Drive runs along the southern edge, heading inland past Munster towards the freeway. Beyond that, Woodman Point and the industrial strip of Henderson sit just down the coast.
