What brings us to Munster
The main roads drive most of our work here. Stock Road ends at Rockingham Road on Munster’s western side, and from there Rockingham Road becomes part of National Route 1, carrying freight south towards the Kwinana industrial area. That mix of trucks, commuters and turning traffic makes the junction and the stretch south of it a common place for crashes and breakdowns. Heavy vehicles moving at speed are the reason we always ask you to stand well clear while you wait.
Munster’s land use adds a commercial side. The large Cockburn Cement site takes up part of the suburb, and the industrial land around it means we’re often asked to move work vehicles, trailers and the occasional shipping container. Since the suburb is also close to the Henderson marine precinct, plenty of staff utes and vans pass through.
Main roads around Munster
Rockingham Road forms the western boundary, separating Munster from Lake Coogee and Henderson. Russell Road runs along the south, linking Cockburn Road on the coast with the Kwinana Freeway, and Wattleup is across it to the south-east. Henderson Road and Lorimer Road mark the eastern edge towards Beeliar, while Fancote Avenue forms the northern boundary.
If you’ve broken down in Munster
- At or near the Stock Road junction, get as far off the road as you can and stay away from moving traffic.
- On Russell Road, use the verge or a side road and keep your hazards on.
- At an industrial site, tell us the business name and the gate we should use.
- If you’re unsure which suburb you’re in since the boundary changes, the street address is all we need.
