Towing in Wattleup: what the work looks like

Wattleup has changed more than almost any other suburb in Perth’s south. The old market gardens that once supplied Fremantle have largely given way to industrial land, and the area is now part of the Latitude 32 Industry Zone. Much of our work here is commercial: shipping container transport to and from industrial lots, and towing utes, vans and light trucks that have broken down at a yard or between sites.

Being close to Henderson, Naval Base and the Kwinana industrial strip, Wattleup also sees plenty of freight traffic. Breakdowns on Rockingham Road and Rowley Road involve heavy vehicles moving around you, so safety comes first.

Private cars still turn up too, usually a vehicle that has stopped on the way through to Kwinana or Cockburn and needs a tow to the owner’s mechanic.

Roads and places we cover around Wattleup

Rockingham Road runs along the western side of the suburb, linking north to Munster and south towards Kwinana. The old Wattleup townsite was at the corner of Rockingham Road and Wattleup Road. Rowley Road and Russell Road run east from the industrial area towards the Kwinana Freeway, with Hammond Park and Success to the east and Henderson to the west.

To the south, the industrial land continues into Hope Valley and on to Naval Base and Kwinana Beach.

If you’re stuck in Wattleup

  1. Inside an industrial site, tell us the business name and the gate to use.
  2. On Rockingham Road or Rowley Road, get the vehicle as far off the road as possible and wear hi-vis if you have it.
  3. For container work, have the container size and pickup details ready.
  4. If you can’t find a street number, give us the nearest cross road or a nearby business.

Local FAQ

Towing in Wattleup: questions

Can you deliver a shipping container to a site in Wattleup?

Yes. Container moves into and out of the Latitude 32 area are a good fit for our container transport service. Give us the container size, where it's coming from and the delivery address, plus any access limits at the site such as a gate, soft ground or overhead lines.

Are there still homes in Wattleup?

Very few. The suburb has been progressively redeveloped for industry under the Hope Valley-Wattleup redevelopment project, which included acquiring the old townsite for industrial use. We still tow from any address in the area, residential or commercial.

My work truck broke down on Rowley Road. Can you move it?

Yes, we handle utes, vans and light trucks as well as cars. Tell us the make, model and approximate weight, plus whether it's loaded, so we send the right truck. Stay well clear of passing traffic while you wait.
