What we do in Henderson
Henderson isn’t really a place people live. Its heart is the Australian Marine Complex, one of the country’s largest shipbuilding and repair precincts, surrounded by fabrication, engineering and marine service businesses. That makes our work here mostly commercial.
Container transport is a big part of it. Businesses bring in containers for storage, project cargo and site offices, and we carry them between Henderson, the port and other yards. We also move work utes, vans and light trucks that break down mid-shift, often to a fleet workshop elsewhere in Perth.
Then there are the staff cars. Long shifts and hot car parks mean flat batteries and overheating are common, and someone who finishes at 2am still needs help getting their car home. We’re available around the clock for exactly that.
Roads and access around Henderson
Cockburn Road is the main route through the suburb, running along the coast north towards Coogee and Fremantle and south towards Naval Base and Kwinana. Russell Road marks the northern edge and links east past Munster to the freeway. Sparks Road is one of the key streets inside the industrial area, and the freight railway marks the eastern boundary with Wattleup. Dalison Avenue sits on the southern edge, and down in the south-west, between the beach and Cockburn Road, are the Naval Base Shacks, a heritage-listed group of private holiday shacks.
Stuck in Henderson? Here’s what helps
- Give us the business name and street number, not just “the marine complex”. It’s a big area.
- Tell us which gate the driver should use and whether a site pass or escort is needed.
- On Cockburn Road, keep clear of passing heavy vehicles and wait well off the bitumen.
- For larger vehicles, have the make, model and rough weight ready.
