Why people call us from Northbridge
Northbridge is Perth’s nightlife and dining district, and many of our jobs here come after dark. Cars that sat for hours in a multi-deck car park with the lights left on, a clutch that finally gives up in stop-start traffic on William Street, or someone who has had a few drinks and wants the car taken home rather than risk driving. We’re happy to do that last one, and it’s often the best decision of the night.
Underneath the suburb, the Graham Farmer Freeway runs through the Northbridge Tunnel between the Mitchell Freeway and East Perth. A breakdown in there is stressful, and any stall at the portals causes a quick queue. Crashes on the approaches are usually accident towing jobs where we deal with your insurer directly.
Getting around Northbridge’s streets
Roe Street forms the southern edge beside the railway, with the Perth Cultural Centre and the WA Museum just to the north. William Street, Lake Street and Fitzgerald Street run north through the suburb, crossed by James Street, Aberdeen Street and Newcastle Street. Walk south over the rail and you’re in the Perth CBD. Head west and you reach West Perth and the freeway, or north-east and you’re on the way to Mount Lawley.
Parking here is a patchwork of small private lots, council car parks and kerbside bays, many with time limits and height restrictions. For a car that simply needs to reach a workshop, our vehicle transport service can collect it and drop it off.
Stranded in Northbridge tonight?
- Move to a well-lit spot near the car, like a shopfront or the car park entrance, while you wait.
- Give us the car park name or the street and nearest venue, since many lanes look alike at night.
- If keys are lost or the car is locked, tell us so we can plan the load.
- Let us know where it needs to go: home, a mechanic, or held until morning.
