The usual Peppermint Grove callouts
Peppermint Grove is Western Australia’s smallest local government area, and nearly all of it is large homes on tree-lined streets. Our jobs here tend to be careful ones. Prestige and European cars that won’t start, luxury SUVs with electronic faults, and classic cars that need to be moved to a specialist workshop all come up regularly. We use vehicle transport on a tilt tray so nothing is towed on its wheels unless that’s the right call.
Stirling Highway runs along the edge of the suburb and carries constant traffic between Perth and Fremantle. A breakdown or a nudge at the lights here holds up a lot of people, so we aim to clear it quickly.
Getting around Peppermint Grove
Stirling Highway marks the western side, with Cottesloe beyond it. Leake Street, Keane Street and McNeil Street lead down from the highway towards the river, where The Esplanade follows the foreshore around Freshwater Bay. Claremont is to the north and Mosman Park to the south, and Dalkeith lies across the water.
Many homes have long driveways, gates or underground garages. If the car is behind a gate, let us know who can open it and whether there’s a tight turn on the way out.
If your car won’t move in Peppermint Grove
- At home, tell us about gates, driveway gradients and garage clearances before the truck arrives.
- On Stirling Highway, put your hazards on and steer into a side street if you can.
- On the foreshore, give us the nearest street or the yacht club as a reference point.
- If the car is a prestige model, let us know if it has special towing modes or air suspension.
