What brings us to Craigie
Craigie is one of the original Whitfords suburbs, settled from the 1970s, so much of the housing is well established and many families have been here for years. Our everyday jobs include older cars that need a tow to the mechanic, flat batteries on cold mornings and vehicles that have been sitting in a garage and need transport to a new owner.
The leisure centre on Whitfords Avenue draws a steady crowd, and its car park is one of the spots where we most often find a car that won’t start. Whitfords Avenue itself, which runs along Craigie’s southern edge and meets the Mitchell Freeway, is a busy route between the coast and the freeway, and crashes at its signalised intersections keep our accident towing crews busy.
Craigie’s main roads and neighbours
Whitfords Avenue separates Craigie from Padbury to the south. Marmion Avenue forms the western edge, with Kallaroo on the other side, and the Mitchell Freeway runs down the east with Woodvale beyond. Eddystone Avenue and Craigie Drive carry local traffic north towards Beldon and Heathridge. Craigie Open Space sits near the freeway end of Whitfords Avenue.
Car trouble in Craigie? Try this
- On Whitfords Avenue, aim for a slip lane, bus bay or side street rather than stopping in a through lane.
- At the leisure centre, mention the nearest entrance or the pool side of the building.
- In the residential streets, give us the house number and nearest corner, since several streets curve back on themselves.
- If you’ve crashed, get photos, swap details and keep your claim number handy.
