Mundaring callouts we see most
Great Eastern Highway runs straight through Mundaring, and everything heading to or from the Wheatbelt and the Goldfields passes along it. That means heavy freight, caravans and tired drivers. We get called to overheated engines after the long climb from Midland, flat tyres on the shoulder and rear-end crashes where the highway slows into town. For a crash, we can manage it as accident towing and bill your insurer directly.
Beyond the highway, Mundaring is hills country. Mundaring Weir Road winds south towards the weir, and its tight bends catch out the odd driver, particularly in the wet. Around town, bush blocks and gravel driveways mean ute and 4WD recoveries after winter rain, which our 4WD recovery team handles regularly.
Roads and neighbours around Mundaring
The town centre sits along Great Eastern Highway, with Railway Terrace and Craig Street close by and the arts centre right on the highway. Heading west on the highway, you pass through Mahogany Creek and then on towards Glen Forrest. Stoneville Road runs north out of town towards Stoneville and Parkerville, and east of Mundaring is Sawyers Valley, the turn-off for Mount Helena.
Mundaring Weir Road leads south to the weir and Lake C. Y. O’Connor, a popular weekend drive, and on into the forest towards Kalamunda.
If you’re stuck around Mundaring
- On the highway, use the nearest side road or car park in town rather than a narrow shoulder.
- On Mundaring Weir Road, put a warning triangle well back from a blind bend if you have one.
- Give us a landmark, like the arts centre, a servo or a driveway number.
- If a 4WD is bogged, stop spinning the wheels. You’ll only dig it deeper.
Call 0419 857 070 and we’ll organise the recovery.
